In his own words:

Almost 10 years ago i started out the front door trying to save my life from overweight. It was not about Ironman, i didn't know what Ironman was. Nor was it about marathons, it was an attempt to rescue my life from the 300 pound body i had become trapped in. Many nay sayers said i was too old, and would not stick to it. Today i'm a 113 pound less than when i started. Less than 3 years ago i became a part of a Great Race Team, and this week almost at the age of 63, i was able to run the most miles i've ever run in a single week in my entire life. Sixty miles. One day when all this mess is over, we're going to make a run to qualify for Boston, and then the Ironman World Championship. If you have some goals you want to reach, don't just sit there and think about them. Come get on board with us at Tri Coach Georgia. You'll be placed around Great people to help you get to where you want to be. It's not all about racing, it's a family that will help you weather it be racing, training, trying to gain your health back, or weight loss. We'll get you some help. REAPERS GONNA REAP!!

How long have you been doing triathlon and what made you start?
I have been doing triathlon about 10 years, been a runner since I was a little kid, but a friend said, “ there is a triathlon at a lake nearby, you should do it! “ , I said, “ok” even though I did not have a bike and could barely swim front crawl!!

Favorite Race?
Favorite race, that’s a tricky one, as they are all great for different reasons, finishing my first triathlon was great, first 70.3 was amazing as I raised over 13,000€ for my sons hospital, but then completing an actual Ironman was so amazing. But the little races too, that I have won or got a Pb....I love doing all races.
I got a half Ironman Pb at ironman70.3 sables d’Olonne last year and my friends had came to watch, and one of my kids came third overall in ironkids, I guess that was maybe my favorite

Most unfun race you’ve ever suffered through?
I had a tough time last year at Tours Marathon, I set off way too fast, and it came on hailstones, I don’t know why I went so fast I just felt so good, but then at halfway I thought I was going to faint, tried to refuel but struggled all the way to the finish. But the worst was Sauternes Marathon many years ago, again set off to fast, but I also was sick and fell over a few times during the race, fueled badly the night before and paid the price. But to be honest I enjoy all the races, even the tough times

Must have nutrition item?
I love SlayRx obviously, but struggle to get it in France, I am a big fan of porridge and beetshots, and GU salted caramel gel. I recently tried Maurten gels, they are great
I don’t eat meat or any animal products, but am i a big fan of bread, and fruit and veg, oh and I have a bit of a dark chocolate problem.....

What would your hashtag be if you were a professional athlete?
Don’t know about a hashtag, I never really thought about that, maybe #batwomanruns

What do you love about being a Reaper?
Being a reaper is great, they are just such a cool bunch, it’s nice the support you get and to be part of a cool family. They are all real special and make me feel cool, Wicked and SG are super special, and Bud, but they are all great, And Harvey is awesome, hopefully I get to meet up someday. I also love the cool logo on my race kit

Are you coached? By whom? What makes them the best coach for you?
I was coached by Jared Hauschildt, he is AMAZING!!! since he coached me I have smashed all my personal records, and he is cool and old fashioned like me ( just a list of what to do for the week, no electronic gadgets mentioned, I’m clueless to power meters heart rate stuff etc, just like to run by feel)
I’ve stopped his coaching at the moment with the COVID and race cancellations, and also I’m currently training to be a firefighter so time was a bit tricky, just been winging it lately, oh and running nearly 2000km in a couple of months for the GVRAT!! ...
